Anna Wiechmann ’17

Anna Wiechmann (2017)

Anna Wiechmann graduated from Bethany Lutheran College in May 2017 with honors, earning a degree in English, a minor in Spanish, and licensure in Communication Arts and Literature (grades 5–12).

After college, Anna embarked on a teaching career where she could share her passion for language and literature. She currently serves as an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher at St. Marcus Lutheran School in Milwaukee. In her classroom, Anna brings stories to life, nurturing both literacy and confidence in young readers.

During her time at Bethany, Anna’s academic pursuits and language skills were shaped by a clear vocational calling and intentional mentorship. Her preparation was shaped by the college’s supportive environment and her deepening interest in how language shapes identity and understanding.

Now, in her role as a middle school educator, Anna continues to draw from her faith-rooted education, encouraging students to explore ideas, ask questions, and grow in both intellect and character.

Her journey exemplifies how a degree in English combined with a teaching mindset can lead to meaningful work—guiding young people toward the joy of communication, critical thinking, and personal growth.
