Megan Maschoff graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Bethany, concentrating on sports broadcasting and photography. Her time on campus was filled with hands-on experience—from covering Maverick Hockey Weekend broadcasts to writing for The Scroll and capturing life at Bethany through her camera lens. She also participated in Concert Choir and Band, served with the Phone-a-Thon, and worked as an Admissions Tour Guide—each opportunity sharpening her communication skills and preparing her for a future in media and outreach.
Those experiences laid the foundation for a meaningful career in the field of communications at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault, Minnesota, an independent prep school. Megan credits Bethany for shaping not only her professional path but also her personal values. “Bethany Lutheran College taught me to always keep Christ at the center of what I do,” she reflects.
Since graduating from Bethany, Megan has taken on a role with the Bethany Alumni Board, continuing her connection to the college through events and engagement. “Personally, I developed so many strong relationships … with my professors and BLC staff as well, all of which I so greatly cherish,” she says.
Megan’s journey shows how a Christ-centered liberal arts education can open doors to meaningful work and lasting relationships. Her story stands as an example of what it means to live out one’s calling with clarity, purpose, and compassion.
