Biography

I grew up in Winona, MN. I attended St. Matthew’s (WELS) church and school. I was active in sports playing hockey, soccer, and tennis and was a member of the 1995 Big 9 Conference tennis champions. I attended Winona State University majoring in Business Administration and was an active member and officer of the WSU WELS Campus Ministry Club. After graduation I worked in a variety of roles for Volkswagen Credit and Audi Financial Services in Libertyville, IL. While working there I obtained my MBA from UW-Parkside in Kenosha, WI. During my time at VW I began to volunteer a week each summer for Camp Gilbert Juvenile Diabetes camp in South Dakota. This experience created a passion for working with young people and I went back to school for my teaching license. I taught high school business and was the head girls tennis coach at Mankato East High School before coming over to Bethany originally as the Men and Women’s Tennis Coach. Through meeting and connecting with legendary BLC Business Professor Dean Shoop I was able to come to BLC full time in a tennis and instructor capacity. After marrying my wonderful wife Mary I ended my coaching tenure and teach full time. Myself, my wife and our young daughter make our home in Belle Plaine, MN where we are very active at Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
