Teaching Philosophy
I believe student learning requires challenging and engaging activities that act as formative exercises to master materials and skills. Teaching is a proactive creative craft where the teacher is constantly learning how to develop and implement student activities to improve student learning.

Biography
Perry is a native of northwestern Iowa, born in Storm Lake, baptized in at Pilgram Lutheran in Quimby Iowa, and raised in a farming family near Galva, Iowa. After completing high school, Perry attended the University of Northern Iowa for Chemistry and Physic Education degrees. Perry taught high school science and computer science, then moved to William Penn College to teach physics and computer science while also working on a Masters Degree in Computer Science Education at the University of Northern Iowa.
Perry worked for two years at Oskaloosa Schools and then started a web development and IT business in Oskaloosa Iowa. Having joined a WELS church in Oskaloosa, Perry did certification training for teaching in WELS high schools and was called Evergreen Lutheran High School where he taught for 6 years. Perry took at call to Divine Savior in Doral Flroida for 1 year when COVID hit and his family moved to Minnesota. In fall 2020, Perry was called to consider the Computer Science position aat BLC which he started in January 2021.
Perry is married to Julie (since 1986) and together have one son Erik, a WELS pastor in Lake Benton, MN.
