Student Publications
Join a student publication and turn your passion for writing, design, photography, or video into published work that makes an impact beyond the classroom.
Create. Collaborate. Publish.
Bethany students have multiple opportunities to create content outside the classroom! Whether you love to write, design, photograph, or make videos, there’s a student publication for you!
Fidelis (Yearbook)
Fidelis students meet weekly as a class to learn the process of producing a yearbook. As the historical publication on campus, these students’ work is viewed years down the road. Staff members write stories and put the work together on the pages sent to press. Being a part of the Fidelis is a great chance for students to learn about journalism, meet new people and also produce a body of work that could help them get a job in any field after graduation.
You may qualify for a Talent Scholarship to work on Fidelis.
Selected past years of Fidelis have been scanned and are available on the Bethany Archives.

Inkwell
Inkwell is a literary magazine that showcases creative writing and artwork by the Bethany community. Inkwell staff manages every aspect of production, from designing layout to organizing and reading submissions, and all students are welcome to submit work!
Inkwell Literary Magazine is dedicated to creativity and its cultivation during the constant change of college life.
Since its first issue was published in 1998, Inkwell has published creative writings and artwork generated by the student body at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota. Since then, we have grown and expanded, and yet we still strive to cultivate, encourage, and rejoice in the creativity of our campus and to share that creativity with our community.
Photojournalism
Photojournalism students meet weekly as a class to learn about techniques used by professional photojournalists and to receive assignments for the student publications, as well as the BLC web site. It is a great chance for students to meet new people, go to new events and see their work published.
