Academic Resources
Christ-Centered Student Resources for Learning and Growth
Academic Resources provides support for students through advising sessions, supported study sessions, and tutoring services in most subjects. Academic Resources provides appropriate accommodations for students with identified disabilities through the creation and implementation of Academic Resource Plans.
The staff of Academic Resources provides weekly advising appointments with each student in the program. During these sessions, advisors will review attendance, grades, and then work with the students to address concerns. Academic Resources will provide guidance and support while encouraging the student in self-advocacy.
Academic Resource Center
Bethany offers free academic support to all students. The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is located on the second level of Luther Hall Room 203. See the calendar for specific hours. Individual and group tutoring is available for most academic areas.
Ada Stokes Writing Center
Supported by the English Department, the mission of the Ada Stokes Writing Center is to help BLC students develop as independent critical thinkers and writers. Our friendly tutors offer support with academic essays, creative writing, cover letters, résumés, and graduate applications.
Disability Services
Bethany Lutheran College is committed to providing access and reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. Reasonable accommodations are determined after consultation with the student and a thorough review of the student’s documentation.
Testing Reservations
Students who need to test with accommodations or need to make up a missed test session may sign up for test proctoring session in the ARC using one of these Testing Reservation Forms.
Tutoring
Academic Resources provides free tutoring services for all Bethany Lutheran College students. Tutors are recruited and trained by the Director of Academic Resource Director to provide timely and effective content specific tutoring.
