Get Ready for Campus Life: Checklists for Every Student
Welcome to Bethany Lutheran College! Whether you’re a new or returning student, commuter or resident, these checklists will guide you through the important steps to prepare for a successful semester. From course registration and housing to campus resources and key contacts, everything you need to know before and after arrival is here to help you get started smoothly and confidently.
Checklist for New Resident Students
Before you arrive:
- Learn what to bring to campus.
- Get acquainted with with Bethany’s Residential Policies.
- Find and purchase your textbooks on MyBLC.
- Make any necessary changes to your class schedule by contacting the Registrar.
- Complete Student Athlete forms (required for participation in NCAA Div III athletics).
- Complete the Language Inventory placement exam for Spanish or German.
- Review the Student Guidebook.
- Get your housing assignment.
- Get driving directions and maps for your trip to Bethany.
- Check your Bethany e-mail account and the Daily Bulletin for announcements.
When you arrive:
- Go to your residence hall.
- Get your room key and fob from the Resident Hall Coordinator (RHC) in your res hall.
- Check into your room with your Resident Assistant (RA).
- Get your Student ID in the library.
- Register your vehicle (free; required for all student with a vehicle) and buy a parking permit if you wish to park on campus.
- Find your mailbox.
- Get your computer connected to the Bethany network.
- Jump into Bethany’s Best Week Ever!
Checklist for New Commuter Students
Before you arrive:
- Make any necessary changes to your class schedule by contacting the Registrar.
- Find and purchase your textbooks on MyBLC.
- Complete Student Athlete forms (required for participation in NCAA Div III athletics).
- Complete the Language Inventory placement exam for Spanish or German.
- Review the Student Guidebook.
- Get driving directions and maps for your trip to Bethany.
- Check your Bethany e-mail account and the Daily Bulletin for announcements.
When you arrive:
- Get your mailbox key from the Information Secretary in Old Main and check your mail in the mail room.
- Get your Student ID in the library.
- Get your key fob from.
- Check your meal plan.
- Register your vehicle (free; required for all student with a vehicle) and buy a parking permit if you wish to park on campus.
- Get your computer connected to the Bethany network.
- Jump into Bethany’s Best Week Ever!
Checklist for Returning Resident Students
- Review what to bring to campus.
- Get acquainted with with Bethany’s Residential Policies.
- Complete Student Athlete forms (required for participation in NCAA Div III athletics).
- Make any changes to your class schedule on MyBLC or by contacting the Registrar.
- Find and purchase your textbooks on MyBLC.
- Get your room key and fob from the Resident Hall Coordinator (RHC) in your res hall.
- Check into your room with your RA.
- If you need a new ID, get one in the library.
- Register your vehicle (free; required for all student with a vehicle) and buy a parking permit if you wish to park on campus.
- Find your new mailbox.
- Get your computer connected to the Bethany network.
- Check your Bethany e-mail account and the Daily Bulletin for announcements.
- Jump into Bethany’s Best Week Ever!
Checklist for Returning Commuter Students
- Complete student athlete forms (required for participation in NCAA Div III athletics).
- Get your mailbox key, welcome folder, and student ID (if a new one is needed) in the library.
- Check your meal plan.
- Register for classes.
- Find and purchase your textbooks on MyBLC.
- Register your vehicle (free; required for all student with a vehicle) and buy a parking permit if you wish to park on campus.
- Get your computer connected to the Bethany network.
- Check your Bethany e-mail account and the Daily Bulletin for announcements.
- Jump into Bethany’s Best Week Ever!
